Loaded Lux is a Harlem legend, a lyricists’ lyricist, and a battle rap god.  A talent, whose career has spanned three decades, Lux became a Hip-Hop household name in the early 2000s as one of the highlighted artists in SMACK DVDs.

His extraordinary skill set propelled him to stages all across the country, at a time when unsigned emcees were not offered primetime opportunities, including his unprecedented seven-week run on 106 & Park’s Freestyle Friday. Before reaching a quarter of a century, the network inducted him into the Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame — cementing him as one of the best emcees of his generation to touch a mic.  While his skill set made him a giant, it is his paternal vision for the culture and his highly curated career that has made him a legend.

In the late 2000s, he founded the Lionz Den, a league that provided the opportunity to rising stars like Arsonal, Goodz, K-Shine, and a teenaged Tay Roc, and featured other Harlem icons like Wild ‘N Out’s Charlie Clips.

One of the few battle rappers to make a name for himself outside of the industry, he counts as one of his most prestigious fans, the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, who appreciates his articulate crafting of lyrics and his thoughtful construction of nation-building rhymes.  But that is not to say, names like Sean “P-Diddy’ Combs, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, and the like are not equally revered as supporters of his illustrious career. So respected by his mainstream peers, his motto “You Gon’ Get This Work” has been quoted by Jay-Z, an artist many believe is the greatest of his time, A$AP Ferg, and A$AP Rocky.

He has been featured on various artists' projects including, but not limited to, Mac Miller’s single “Red Dot Music” which featured Action Bronson and Kay Slay’s “Anger Management” also featuring Young Chris and Gunplay; “Spit Game Proper” featuring Cory Gunz and Terminology and “Rolling 110 Deep,” a 40-minute rap song with 110 other rappers.

Lux’s personal catalog includes his 2012 debut album "Beloved," his 2013 mixtape "You Gon' Get This Work" hosted by Shaquille O'Neal, and his 2015 sophomore album "Beloved 2.”  Recently, Lux dropped a hit single “Rite” with Method Man and Redman.

However, the wordsmith shut down the internet when he appeared on Hot 97’s “Freestyles on Flex” as #075 in 2017, disrupting everyone’s top five dead or alive. This level of superior emceeing laid the foundation for him to resurrect the spirit of the Lionz Den and create Top Shelf Freestyle, a freestyle-based competition for lyricists around the nation, platformed on the #1 Hip-Hop station in the world.

Artists that have stood before him include some of his protégés such as Tsu Surf, Tay Roc, Aye Verb, Arsonal, and Charlie Clips. Classic performances such as his battle against Hollow Da Don, Murda Mook, and Calicoe have solidified Lux as a God-tier emcee. However, his battles against up-and-coming artists like Chess and Geechi Gotti remind the world that despite having a career that was thriving when some of his opponents were in nursery school, he is still a formidable opponent and treasure to those in and out of the culture.
